Greetings
Nice to meet you.My name is Asato Yoru.
I have wanted a space for writing miscellaneous articles for a long time, and I have set up a blog space on WordPress because I am familiar with it and can take care of various things when I need help.
I will use it as a diary, work memo, or letter in the course of my activities as Asato Night, focusing on articles related to illustration, which I have been practicing recently, and other things related to my previous activities, such as novels and Youtube.
I would also like to set up some goals for this year 2025.
What kind of activities?
Novel writing (hobby)
Originally, under the name of Asato Yoru, I was writing on Kakuyom.
Since I usually wrote in my spare time during work, I was not able to update when I became busy with work, and have not been able to resume updating as it is.
I have drafts of plots and short stories to read, but I have not been able to publish them.
I like writing quite a bit, but creating stories is a different story.
I have no intention of quitting, and I have been writing small stories little by little, so I would like to organize them and submit them to Kakuyom when I have more of them.
Painter (and would like to be)
I don’t have any big dreams of becoming a professional or anything like that, but I would like to be able to draw illustrations well.
I was forced to work from home when I was at Corona, and I couldn’t go out to play, so I bought an LCD tablet on the spur of the moment.
I had never done any digital illustration before, but I was just so horny.
On a whim.
I started practicing illustration around the end of April 2020, got bored around July of the same year, and left it alone.
I drew a little from about May 2022 to August 2022, continued to draw and not draw from about February 2023, and began serious rehabilitation in April 2024.
Fortunately, I was able to make the acquaintance of someone close to me who was serious about drawing (although he specialized in cartoons), and moreover, thankfully, he was able to offer me the trendy (?) correction service. I am still continuing to do so.
I will write more about the correction of illustrations in another article.
However, I am also a respectable member of society. I have a lot of drinking parties, and there are many days when I can’t touch my pictures, so I don’t feel like I’m growing at all, but I still have a strong desire to draw well, so I even started up a blog with a determination.
I want to leave a record.
Set goals for 2025
As the year opens and I am still motivated, I would like to set some goals for this year’s illustrations.
Mainly to remind myself.
Target
- Reduce the time to complete one illustration
- Aim for 1,000 followers of Bluesky
- Aim for triple-digit number of likes
From where I am now, all three of these goals are pretty tight. Let’s go through them in order.
Reduce the time to complete one illustration
Currently, it takes maybe 20 hours to complete one illustration.
I understand that this is honestly taking too much, but I am not sure how to improve it. For example, when I asked the person who teaches me how to illustrate, he said, “You can’t help it at first. All painters want to be able to draw quickly. It’s a problem that will haunt you for the rest of your life. It’s a problem that sticks with you for the rest of your life.
Perhaps it is a supreme wisdom, but since I have not asked you to look at how I paint specifically, you can’t give me any advice in the first place.
For the time being, I will try to take a time-lapse video of the entire process of illustration and analyze how much time I spend on each step of the illustration process.
Also, although I said roughly 20 hours, I didn’t actually measure it, but rather I recognized it as some kind of total time (which is not completed in a day), so next time I will try to measure the actual time spent drawing illustrations.
From here, we plan to find weaknesses and develop ways to improve.
This year has just begun. It is not time to rush yet.
Aim for 1,000 followers of Bluesky
I understand that numbers are not everything, and I know that I should not get too caught up in the numbers, but I still have a great desire to have many people see my work.
At present, I have 97 followers. I would like to increase the number of followers as well, although I have to achieve the above-mentioned goal of reducing the time required to create illustrations, since I post illustrations too infrequently.

By the way, I have 14 Twitter (X) followers.

There are many strategies for increasing followers lying around the Web, and I would like to refer to them and put them into practice when I have more time.
Aim for triple-digit number of likes
Is this a high or low target? For a beginner like me, it is high enough, but I would still like to improve the quality of each illustration so that many people will appreciate my work.
I know that a certain amount of strategy is necessary for this as well, but I think that I simply have to improve my skills so that I can produce a certain level of quality.
Objectively speaking, I am aware that my illustrations themselves are still at an overwhelmingly low level, but I still have a strong desire to get better and to draw cool and cute illustrations, so I will set this as one of my goals with both my unbreakable heart and a heart that will never get bored.
By the way, the most likes I’ve gotten so far is 20 likes for my bluska, Ononoki-yotsugi. The most likes on Twitter was Kasane-Teto with 27 likes.
Summary
I am a person who gets bored easily to begin with, and I have started up a blog again without learning any lessons, but I will write articles as a log so that I can analyze myself and put more effort into my creative activities.
I hope to make this a blog that I can look back on in years to come.
First of all, I need to increase the number of articles.
